For my sister's birthday, we took her to the Wolf Sanctuary in Lititz, PA (near Lancaster). Ali (my sister) and I are huuuge wildlife lovers and advocates. We used to volunteer at the Schuylkill Wildlife Rehabilitation Center near Philadelphia, PA which cares for hurt hawks, owls, foxes, etc and raises abandoned baby squirrels, birds and opossums and more. One of her dreams was to go see the wolves and the experience left us wanting to volunteer at the Wolf Sanctuary as well!
It was a perfect time to visit the wolves because we were just hit with a massive snow storm and the wolves were in heaven. The sanctuary has rescued wolves from horrible domestic situations and has given them a safe and spacious environment and they seem to be very happy campers! The people there are amazing and the wolves are incredible and awe inspiring to be around. Amazing power & presence...highly recommend going there if you can. Or donate to them! They need it!
What's even better is that they have a gorgeous Bed & Breakfast on the site that you can stay at and visit the wolves.
It's so important that people know and realize that wolves are so much more than they are portrayed as in the media and films. My sister and I sign petitions weekly to stop the needless and reckless hunting of wolves in the world. Predators keep balance in the cycle of life and they are necessary in the wild. Period. If you want to sign petitions too please visit the links I've provided below.

I love this.
ReplyDeleteIf my finances ever get me to the point of traveling, I will for sure take the trek there.
